UNIV Nigeria
UNIV Nigeria is an annual event that brings together university students from varied disciplines to discuss contemporary issues. Normally held both in Lagos (the commercial centre of Nigeria) and Enugu, it attracts hundreds of students from institutions of higher learning in an intellectually stimulating and academically engaging atmosphere.
Tailored after UNIV which began in 1968 in Rome. The aim of the congress is to foster critical thinking, dialogue on the principal questions affecting the human person and culture of our times, thereby preparing the students for active life as informed citizens. It also gives students an opportunity to discuss issues not directly related to their specific academic path thereby fostering an all-round formation of the students. Each year, a theme is chosen and students are expected to study, reflect, dialogue and make presentations on them.
Our Conferences have attracted notable speakers, like Alexandre Havard, founder of the Virtuous Leadership System, Professor Fabian Ajogwu, OFR, SAN, Anthony Oputa Regional Managing Partner, West Africa EY, Professor Pat Utomi, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, the then Lagos State Commissioner of Education, to mention a few.
